Jeanne B. Ikerman - Cumberland

Jeanne B. (DeBlois) Ikerman, 75, of Nate Whipple Highway died Friday, May 16, 2014, at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the beloved wife of Karl B. Ikerman for 50 wonderful years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Ruth (Bates) DeBlois, she had lived in Cumberland for most of her life.

Jeanne was a registered nurse at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence, and later at Mount St. Rita’s Health Centre, Cumberland, for 17 years before retiring in 2001.

She was a graduate and Class President of Roger Williams School of Nursing and a member of the Roger Williams Nursing Association. She was a 1957 graduate of Cumberland High School.

She was a very active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cumberland, where she had also served as the Head of its Altar Guild.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Kristin Meystre and her husband, Eric of East Providence, Kathryn Hammann and Karlynn Amy Grenier and her husband, Leo, all of Cumberland; one son, Karl Brian Ikerman II of Dover, Del.; two sisters, Marilyn Lavalette of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Elaine Mandeville of Forestdale; six grandchildren, Nathan, Evan, Brendon, Adam, Madilynn and Logan; two step grandchildren, Camden and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late David DeBlois.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held SATURDAY, MAY 24 at 11 A.M. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 120 Nate Whipple Highway, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln, FRIDAY, from 4-7 P.M.
