Jo-Ann Autote Martin - Augusta, Maine

Jo-Ann Autote Martin of Augusta, Maine, and Lillian, Ala., 53, died from a respiratory illness on Friday May 20th at her sister's home in Rangeley.

Born in Woonsocket, R.I., on December 19, 1960, she joins her loving parents, Dwinal and Leona (Lavallee) Autote who passed before her. She graduated from college with a degree in early childhood development and she loved working with small children. She followed her dream of traveling and, with her tractor-trailer license, journeyed across the country.

As a beautiful, active woman with many talents, she worked for the ME DOT as a snowplow truck driver and then painting road lines. This amazing, cheerful and boundless woman lived her life the way she wanted with no apologies. She was able to make friends any and everywhere. Jo-Ann had energy, confidence, and a love for dance and whiskey.

She leaves a daughter, Jacey R. Martin from Woonsocket, R.I., and her two beloved grandchildren, Elijah David, 12, and Avyanna Jean Lee, 9. Jo-Ann also leaves a son, Daniel R. Martin of Woonsocket and Rangeley, and her newest beloved grandchild, Sophie Ann, 2. Jo-Ann will be sadly missed by her brother Charley Autote; her two sisters, MaryAnn and LeeAnn, and their other halves, Randy and Dave, and sister-in-law, Kathy Autote; and her sister/cousin/private nurse, Nikki. The Autote/ Lavallee family will deeply and truly mourn her passing. Her many nieces and nephews will miss their Taunte Jo, “TJ.”

Services will be held on Sunday, June 8th at 9:30 A.M. at Mitigwa Manor on Dodge Pond in Rangeley, Maine. All family, loved ones, and friends are invited to celebrate her life and memories of her. Always keep the wind at your back and the sun on your face. Dance on, Jo.

Condolences and tributes may be shared on her memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com. Cremation services have been provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
