Albert Wildgoose - Bristol

Albert “Al” Wildgoose, 86, formerly of Lincoln and Bradenton, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at the Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Woolley) Wildgoose of Greenville, R.I.

Born Providence, R.I., he was the son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Yates) Wildgoose. Al was a graduate of East High School, Pawtucket, and M.C.I. He was a student at Rhode Island School of Design for two years.

He was a member of Barney Merry Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and was Past Master in 1964. He was also a 50-plus year member with the Consistory of RI and the RI Shriners, where he was Past Commander in the Legion of Honor and a 45-year member of American Legion Post 33 in Lincoln, R.I.

He was a World War II veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Al was employed with Texas Instruments for 34 years and was a 42-year member of Christ Church, Lonsdale, where he also was a Sunday school teacher and choir member.

Al was a Little League coach in the town of Lincoln for many years and charter member at Sabah Temple in Sarasota, Fla. During the Christmas season, Al would play Santa at the Rhode Island and DeSoto malls.

Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Jay A. Wildgoose of Vermont and Cheryl L. Sullivan and husband Joseph of Greene, R.I.; four grandchildren, Paige E. Sullivan of Greene, R.I., Brooke A. Sullivan of Greene, R.I., Jeremy A. Wildgoose of Woodstock, Conn., and Jaime A. Wildgoose of Woodstock, Conn. He was predeceased by six siblings, Wilfred Wildgoose, Lawrence Wildgoose, Joseph Wildgoose, Lucy Wildgoose, Gertrude Clarke and Edith Storey; his aunt, Alice Murphy; and uncle, Hebert J. Wildgoose.

All services will be private at the request of the family.
