Raymond G. Renaud - Cumberland

Raymond G. “Ray” Renaud, 82, of Cumberland, and formerly of Woonsocket, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, after a long illness.

He was the beloved husband of Rachel (Perron) Renaud. They were happily married for 59 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Rena (Plante) Renaud.

Ray was a graduate of Woonsocket High School. In his high school career, Ray was considered a talented athlete, particularly in baseball, selected as All State in baseball and recruited by professional organizations. However, he decided to marry his wife of 59 years, and pursue a building career upon which he became affectionately known as “the wood doctor.”

Besides his wife and partner for life, he is survived by his devoted children, Diane Jolin and her husband, Dr. Michael Jolin, PhD, Susan Lataille and her husband Gary, and Michelle Baldelli and her husband Dan “Rocky.” He also leaves six grandchildren, Andrew Jolin, Esq., Jonathan Smith, Alex Lataille, Rocco Baldelli, Dr. Nicholas Baldelli, DMD, and Dante Baldelli; and one great-grandson, Luc Jolin. He was the brother of the late Roger Renaud.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
