Rita E. Genereux – Woonsocket

Rita E. (Caron) Genereux, 96, of Dana Street passed away Friday, May 19, in Oakland Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center following a recent illness. She would have turned 97 this week. She was the wife of the late Oscar Genereux.

Rita was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Clodomir and Bertha (Menard) Caron. She worked in the shipping department of Bonin Spinning for many years retiring in 1955, and was a longtime member of the St. Joseph’s Senior Citizens. Rita was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and is survived by her son Ronald Genereux of Woonsocket with whom she lived. In addition, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Theodore Caron, Aurore Guay, Bella Daignault, and Lucienne Coccoli.

Her funeral with visitation will be held Friday, May 26, at 9:30 a.m., from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.
