Mr. and Mrs. Ouellette celebrate 70 years of marriage

CUMBERLAND – Wilfred J. and Therese M. Ouellette celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 30. A party, given by their children, was held June 9 at La Familia Restaurant.

Mr. and Mrs. Ouellette were married May 30, 1947, at St. Ann Church in Woonsocket. Mrs. Ouellette is the former Therese Montmarquette.

The couple are the parents of Gerard and his wife, Isabelle, of McAlester, Okla.; Maurice Ouellette of Woodstock, Conn.; Denise Berthiaume and her husband, Gerard, of North Smithfield; and Richard Ouellette of Cranston.

They are the grandparents of Nicole Riegler of Riverview, Fla.; Eric Ouellette of Edinburgh, Scotland; Jill Clark of Ashburn, Va.; Jenna Macaulay of Des Moines, Wash.; Adam Ouellette of Texas; Audrey Ouellette of Cumberland; and the late Leighanne Ouellette. They are the great-grandparents of Isabella, Fiona and Theodore.

Mrs. Ouellette retired from Miller Electric in 1998, where she worked as a molder. She enjoys cooking, puzzles and Hallmark movies.

Mr. Ouellette served in the Air Force in WWII. He retired from Dennison Manufacturing in 1998, where he worked as a printer. He enjoys painting and seasonally displays his paintings at Bear Hill Village Community Hall. He is also a Red Sox fan.
