CENTRAL FALLS – Packaging & More broke ground on a 20,000-square-foot expansion project in Central Falls on May 25.

Once completed, the four-month project will add new jobs and effectively double the company’s existing facility.

Packaging & More is a second-generation, family-run business that provides packaging to many independent restaurants and grocery stores in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

“My father grew up in Central Falls and started this company nearly 25 years ago on a hope and a dream,” said Tony Fonseca, owner and operator of Packaging & More. “Our growth is a reflection of the important and vital food economy in our state, and I’m so pleased that we can grow this business for our employees, our customers and our family.”

The expansion will utilize green elements, including solar power, to run the entire operating facility, promoting sustainability.

“Congratulations to Central Falls’ company, Packaging & More, for breaking ground on its new multimillion dollar expansion,” Mayor James A. Diossa said.
