Police arrest son and his mom in Craigslist bust; baby taken away

PAWTUCKET – Pawtucket police have arrested Ezequiel Matos, 22, and his mother, Maribel Davila, 41, of Providence, after busting Matos for allegedly selling prescription narcotic Percocet.

On Oct. 10, the Pawtucket Police Department’s Narcotics Unit arrested Matos and Davila after detectives replied to an ad on Craigslist. Matos posted the ad indicating he was selling “Roxy Blues.” Detectives were familiar that the term “blues” is commonly used to describe Percocet. They arranged to meet Matos in Pawtucket and purchase eight Percocet pills. Matos delivered the pills in exchange for $160 in cash. After the transaction was completed, detectives followed Matos to his vehicle and arrested him.

The suspect's mother, Davila, and his 2-year-old child were waiting in the vehicle. Davila was taken into custody due to an outstanding failure to appear in Superior Court warrant. The original charge listed on the warrant was manufacture/deliver/ possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. The child was returned to the child’s biological mother and the Department of Children Youth and Families was notified of the incident.

Matos was charged with delivery of Schedule II to an undercover police officer.
