Diabetes Prevention Program begins today

PAWTUCKET – The Leon Mathieu Senior Center, 420 Main St., will begin a Diabetes Prevention Program today, Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 12:15 p.m.

Participants will learn to be physically active and eat healthfully to prevent or delay Type 2 diabetes.

Group sessions that teach healthy eating and how to increase physical activity are held once a week for one hour, for a total of 16 weeks. Classes will be held on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. This program is free and open to seniors 55 and older.
