Register Saturday for AMCH winter craft sessions

CUMBERLAND – Registration for the winter session of programs at Arnold Mills Community House, 75 Hillside Road, will be this Saturday, Jan. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at AMCH.

After Saturday, mail-in registrations will be accepted, if space is available. Mail registration checks, payable to Arnold Mills Community House, to AMCH, P.O. Box 7433, Cumberland, R.I. 02864. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for confirmation and materials list. Materials fees are payable to the instructor. Fees are non-refundable unless the class is canceled.

The following winter programs are being offered:

Applique Table Topper: Make a 28-inch round table topper with a heart pattern, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Reg. fee $14. Tuesdays, Jan. 16 and 23, 6:30-10 p.m. Instructor Lee Raos.

Beginner Knitting: Learn the basics. Additional classes available if needed. Reg. fee $7. Thursday, Jan. 18, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Instructor Nancy Abato.

UFO: Work on your unfinished projects. An instructor will be there to

assist. Sign up for the potluck lunch. Reg. fee $10 (pay that day). Saturday, Jan. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Instructor Lee Rao.

Knitted Hats: Use double pointed needles to make a hat for a newborn baby. All materials and instruction supplied; hats can be donated to “Little Hats, Big Hearts.” No fee. Monday, Jan. 22, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Instructor Nancy Abato.

Crochet Ridged Scarves: For beginner or experience crocheter. Choice of two different scarfs will be offered and can be completed in about four hours. Reg. fee $7. Thursday, Jan. 25, 6:30-10 p.m. Instructor Carolyn Martin.

Children’s Snowman Class: Make a snowman using a white sock or clay pot and wooden ball. Children will decorate using imagination and paint, ribbons and jewels. Reg. fee $5. Materials $12. Saturday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Instructor Brenda Paquin.

Folded Tote Bag: Sturdy enough for your groceries. Reg. fee $7. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 6:30-10 p.m. Instructor Nancy Bradford.

Post Stitch Squares Afghan: An easy-to-make crocheted square for beginners or experienced crocheters. Learn the post stitch while crocheting squares that will be sewn together to form a colorful afghan. Two classes, Wednesdays, Feb. 7 and March 7, 6:30-10 p.m. Fee: $14. Instructor Carolyn Martin.

Fat Quarter Fancy Quilt: With just a few of your favorite fat quarters and some fabric yardage for background, create this fast, fun and fancy quilt. Thursdays, Feb. 8 and 15, 6:30-10 p.m. Reg. fee $14. Instructor Laura Machowski.
