Savaria chairman, Mancieri is vice on Steering Committee for 40th Autumnfest

WOONSOCKET – The Autumnfest Steering Committee held its annual reorganizational meeting on Jan. 31 and elected Richard Savaria to be this year’s Autumnfest chairman. Garrett Mancieri was elected as vice chairman, Emily Laramee will return as treasurer, and Tyler Martin was elected as secretary.

“I am very happy to have been selected as chairperson of the 2018 Autumnfest Steering Committee. This is an important year as we begin to plan the 40th Autumnfest Celebration. It will take a lot of hard work, however, the executive committee and the entire Autumnfest Steering Committee is ready to take on this great challenge and bring a great festival to the greater Woonsocket community over Columbus Day Weekend. I would like to say thank you to last year’s chairwoman, Linda Plays. Linda contributed an enormous effort in making Autumnfest a continued success,” said Savaria.

Savaria has served on the Autumnfest Steering Committee since 1979, holding various positions such as parade coordinator, sporting events coordinator and vice chairperson.

Mancieri is entering his second year with Autumnfest. This will be his first year as vice chairman. Last year he served as fundraising coordinator.

Laramee is starting her third year with Autumnfest. In her first year, she was the arts and crafts co-coordinator and then last year she served as treasurer.

Martin is beginning his sixth year with Autumnfest. This is his first year as secretary. The last five years he was park management co-coordinator.
