John Haddad – Woonsocket

John Haddad, 89, formerly of Ray Avenue, passed away at Woonsocket Health Center on February 21, 2018. He was the son of the late Abdo and Hysna (Kaboz) Haddad. Born in Woonsocket on July 28, 1928, he was a lifelong Woonsocket resident.

Educated in the Woonsocket Public Schools. John worked at the Dunn Worsted where he learned the construction trades leading to licenses in construction, electrical, and plumbing. He worked at the Mill Street factory as its maintenance person for all subsequent businesses. For many years, he also worked for the Embassy Club as the banquet manager.

A veteran of the Korean War, John was very proud of his country. His passion was for his automobiles with a new one every two years.

John is survived by his nephew George Arees and his partner, Andrew Wylie, of Orlando, Fla. He was predeceased by his siblings, Michael, Antonio, Marguerite, Mary, Lucy Haddad and Jeannette Arees.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. A funeral mass at St. Mary’s Antiochian Church in Pawtucket will be followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
