Sr. Annette Beauregard – Windham, Conn.

Sr. Annette Beauregard, 95, a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, entered eternal life on the morning of March 28 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, Conn.

Born Annette Irene Beauregard in Woonsocket, R.I., on January 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Lea (Guibeault) Beauregard. She entered religious life in Putnam, Conn., at the Holy Spirit Provincial House in 1942 and made her religious life profession in 1945. She was then known as Sr. Charles Levi.

Her first assignment was in a nursery in Fall River, Mass., from 1945-48. From there she embarked on her long career in teaching in elementary schools operated by the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Wauregan, Moosup, and Putnam. Sr. Annette obtained her teaching degree from Annhurst College in 1979. In 1990 she became CCD coordinator at All Hallows Parish and dedicated herself to that ministry until her retirement in 1997. She spent the next two years lending a helping hand at All Hallows Parish. She particularly delighted in visiting shut-ins and participating in a multitude of parish activities.

She moved to Holy Spirit Provençal House in 2009, to the DHS Health Care Center in 2014, and finally to St. Joseph Living Center inWindham as a member of the newly founded DHS community.

She is survived by one brother, Charles, and his wife, Rochelle, of Slatersville, R.I., and two sisters, Mrs. Helene Dubois and her husband, Richard, and Mrs. Louise Frappier both of Bellingham, Mass. Sister Annette was the eighth of thirteen children; Hector, Albert, Rodolphe, Aurea, Angela, Leo, Roland, Normand, Rita, Helene, Louise and Charles. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Provincial House on Tuesday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:15 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4, at the Provincial House Chapel in Putnam, at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the DHS Retirement Fund in Sister Annette’s memory and sent to the Development Office at the Holy Spirit Provincial House, 72 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260.
