Toddler drowns in neighbor's pool

WOONSOCKET – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning death of a 3-year-old Woonsocket boy in a neighbor's pool.

At 3:13 p.m. Monday, police went to a Poplar Street home in response to a report of a missing child. They searched the home and surrounding area, soon finding the unresponsive child in the next door neighbor's pool. Officers pulled the boy from the pool and administered CPR, and Woonsocket Fire Rescue then responded. The boy was transported to Landmark Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police say more information will be released at the conclusion of their investigation.
