Free sustainable tourism workshop April 20 at BV Visitor Center

PAWTUCKET – The Sustainable Tourism Lab will host a free workshop on Friday, April 20, at 9 a.m. in the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, 175 Main St.

The workshop will focus on the United Nations Environmental Program’s Green Economy Tourism Report and will be presented by Megan Epler Wood, author of “Sustainable Tourism on a Finite Planet.” Wood is also the founder and president of EplerWood International, which since 2003 has fostered sustainable tourism development in Africa, Asia, and Latin America for USAID, the World Bank group, the Inter-American Development Bank, Harvard University’s Center for Health and the Global Environment among others.

Also, participants will engage in a 60-minute workshop led by Robert Leaver of New Commons Inc.
