Scout collecting dolls for Silver Award project

Ella Doyle, of Troop 415 in Cumberland, plans to give donated American Girl dolls to children at Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center.

CUMBERLAND – Girl Scout Ella Doyle of Troop 415 in Cumberland is seeking the donation of American Girl Dolls that are unwanted, gently used, or in need of repair as part of her Silver Award project.

Doyle, an 8th-grader at Saint Mary-Sacred Heart School in North Attleboro, Mass., plans to restore the dolls and give them to children at the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center, which provides services to victims of domestic violence, as well as community education.

Dolls can be dropped off at the Cumberland Public Library, 1464 Diamond Hill Road, through June 1. There is a collection box in the entryway. Donations of any unwanted doll clothes, accessories, or doll furniture will also be accepted.
