Grebien to participate in Bras for a Cause at Twin River

LINCOLN – Local real estate brokers Kerri Gemma and Sherry Mercurio have united to produce Bras for a Cause, an annual event that combines humor and an auction to raise money for the education programs and support services provided by the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. The event will be held at Twin River Event Center, 100 Twin River Road, on Saturday, May 19, at 6 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Movies throughout the Years,” and according to Mercurio, the bras will be theatrically decorated.

Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien will be participating in the show.

Business professionals model the bras and survivors escort the models down the catwalk carrying handmade signs and props, while encouraging the audience to increase their bids for the models. What the bras will look like won’t be revealed until the event.

In addition to the show, ticket price includes a “bra-tail” (cocktail) hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, silent auction, buffet dinner and dessert.
