CSV recognizes volunteers at annual event

CUMBERLAND – The Cumberland School Volunteers honored community members who volunteer their time in the town’s schools at its Annual Recognition Event, held last Wednesday, May 9, in the Cumberland Library’s Community Room.

Supt. Robert Mitchell, Mayor William Murray, school volunteer and state Rep. Mia Ackerman and Sen. Ryan Pearson joined the CSV Board of Directors in offering thanks and appreciation. In addition to the numerous raffle donations, which support the Reading is Fundamental and Just Friends Disability Awareness Program, the event received support from local businesses and groups, including Hunter Insurance, The Valley Breeze, Blackstone Valley Enterprises, Crown Trophy, Enrico Caruso Club, Cumberland Teachers Association and the Sunshine Committees at Ashton, Community, Cumberland Hill, Garvin, and B.F. Norton elementary schools.
