Lincoln’s Doris caps freshman year at Lasell with First-Team All-GNAC honor

NEWTON, Mass. – Lincoln's Sean Doris, who graduated from Lincoln High last year and was a standout on the Lions' and Upper Deck Post 86/14 American Legion baseball teams, recently capped an exceptional freshman season on the Lasell College baseball team by earning a First-Team selection on the GNAC (Great Northeast Athletic Conference) All-Conference Team.

Doris made a big impact on the team in his rookie year, batting .288 (21-for-73) with three doubles and 10 runs scored as a starting right fielder. He was also a regular in the Lasers' pitching rotation, as he started six games and posted a 3-3 record with a 3.49 earned run average. Doris yielded 16 runs (11 earned) on 23 hits in 28 1/3 innings of work, striking out 26 batters, and he tied for the team lead in wins, ranked third in starts and strikeouts, and was fourth in innings pitched and ERA.

Doris also earned back-to-back GNAC Rookie of the Week honors in mid-April, the second one after pitching a complete-game one-hit shutout over GNAC foe Norwich that saw him strike out 12 batters in seven innings.
