Lincoln’s Zammarelli lands spot in California League All-Star Game

MODESTO, Calif. – Lincoln's Nick Zammarelli, a 2013 graduate of Lincoln High who is in his third season in the Seattle Mariners' organization with the Modesto Nuts of the Class A-Advanced California League, will be playing in the first all-star game of his professional career next Tuesday night.

Zammarelli will take the field for the North Division team that will face the South Division ballclub in the California League All-Star Game in Lancaster, Calif. Game time is 10:05 EDT.

In 59 games with Modesto, Zammarelli is batting .295 with 64 hits, 32 runs batted in, and an on-base percentage of .366. He leads his team in at-bats (217), doubles (14), triples (six), and total bases (100), and he's second in hits, RBIs, and slugging percentage (.461).

He is also currently tied for second in the California League in triples, 10th in total bases, and tied for 11th in hits and doubles.

In the field, Zammarelli has played 21 games in right field, 13 at first base, and six in left field, while spending 19 games as a designated hitter.
