Lincoln’s Thompson receives three NE-10 soccer honors at Stonehill

Lincoln’s Camryn Thompson scored nine goals and added eight assists for the Stonehill College women’s soccer team this season.

EASTON, Mass. – Lincoln’s Camryn Thompson, who is a freshman midfielder/striker on the Stonehill College women’s soccer team, was one of four players on the Skyhawks who received Northeast-10 Conference honors last Thursday morning for their outstanding seasons.

Thompson, who graduated from Lincoln High this past spring after earning multiple First-Team All-State honors with the LHS girls’ soccer team, was named the Northeast-10’s Rookie of the Year and earned All-Conference Second-Team and All-Rookie Team honors, as she led the offensive attack with 24 points, tying the program’s 13-year-old record for points in a rookie season.

She also led the team in goals (nine) and was tied for the lead in assists (six). In the Northeast-10, Thompson was ranked fifth in points scored, seventh in goals scored, and tied for seventh in assists.

Thompson was also named the Northeast-10’s Rookie of the Week once this season during a five-game point streak that saw her tally a total of 11 points.

This season’s team made its second appearance in three years in the Northeast-10 Tournament and had one of the best records in program history, a 13-6 overall record (that included a seven-match win streak) and a 10-4 conference mark.

Stonehill is also seeded seventh in the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Tournament’s East Regional and will face 2nd-seeded Bridgeport University in a first-round match on Friday afternoon at Bridgeport’s Knights Field.
