Salon owner says she’s found new spot

CUMBERLAND – Owners at Bella Dame Salon, 2311 Diamond Hill Road, received the surprising news last month that the business would have to move as part of redevelopment of the site.

Owner Jen D’Arezzo, in a note to clients, said she’d received the news while on vacation that the building housing the business, approximately across from Residential Properties, would be demolished as part of an expansion of the medical offices next door, but an article two weeks ago in The Breeze beat her to an announcement.

Planning and Community Development Director Jonathan Stevens said the Planning Board last week unanimously approved a major land development master plan for the larger medical complex, which is expected to help create a more cohesive commercial area and improve drainage for a neighborhood that struggles with flooding.

D’Arezzo said she received notice that Bella Dame needs to be out of its space in four months to make way for demolition.

“I’ve been busting my butt the last few weeks and have found us a new one,” she told clients. This will be the last time we will move as I am lucky enough to buy it.”

The new location, also in Cumberland, is a “great spot,” she said, adding that a lot of work has already gone into the building.

“I am very excited and can’t wait until I can share a little more and give everyone some sneak peeks,” she said. Nothing ever happens this fast in real estate but I have some amazing people in my court. I believe all happens for a reason. I will post updates to keep you all informed.”

Bella Dame will remain open until a move.
