Blackstone Library reopens by appointment

BLACKSTONE – The Blackstone Public Library is once again open to the public. Library visits will be by appointment only. Each appointment will last 30 minutes. Patrons are expected to be on time and appointments will not be extended if the patron/group arrives late. Each group may have up to six people.

Appointments can be made via phone or online on the library’s calendar of events page: https://tinyurl.com/yd4wlndm .

Appointments will not be made in person. For assistance making an appointment, call the library at 508-883-1931.

The first hour of every day is reserved for ages 60 and older and immune-compromised individuals. Patrons will be required to have their temperature taken by a staff member with a non-contact thermometer. Patrons must also be masked to enter the building and will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entry. No exceptions. Those unable to wear a mask have the option to sign up for curbside delivery. Curbside will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m.

Library hours are as follows: Mondays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon-7 p.m; Fridays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The library will be closed on Saturdays during Phase 3.

Library usage is limited to the children’s room, young adult area, adult area, main area of the library and copy room. The meeting room will now serve as the entrance to the building instead of the main doors, which will be used as exits.

Copying, printing, scanning and faxing service will be available, but patrons must bring bills in small denominations and coins. Staff members will no longer make change for large bills such as $20s. Copying/printing/scanning is 20 cents per page for black and white, and 40 cents per page for color. Faxes are $1 per page and cover sheets count as a page.

Adult and young adult computers will be available, but staff will no longer be doing tutorials during appointment-only visits. Children’s computers are not available at this time. Laptops and mobile hotspots are available for checkout.

Adult, young adult and children’s programming will continue to be virtual until further notice.
